ABOUT CPG

CPG was founded to do California prevailing wage compliance the way it should be done. Proactively, with documentation, and with the contractor's actual project at the center. Headquartered in Placentia, California.

FOUNDED IN CALIFORNIA • FAMILY-OWNED • 18+ YEARS OF APPLIED PRACTICE • COMPLIANCE PARTNER, NOT VENDOR

Why CPG exists

Most contractors don't fail compliance because they're cutting corners. They fail because the system is opaque, the documentation is overwhelming, and most compliance firms treat them like vendors instead of partners.

After eighteen-plus years in California public works compliance, Tamika Watts founded CPG to operate differently: verify before submission, document everything with Labor Code citations, and refuse to engage with anyone who isn't ready to do compliance correctly.

CPG's clients don't get audited and find out they have problems. They get help finding them first. That difference is the entire reason this firm exists.

01

Verification before submission

Every certified payroll, classification decision, and wage rate is reviewed against current California Labor Code before it leaves our desk. Errors get caught at the desk, not during an audit.

03

Proactive liability framing

Every engagement establishes what's expected of the contractor from day one. No surprises mid-project. No ambiguity about what compliance requires.

The CPG standard

The compliance industry has a default mode: file what the contractor sends, fix what the agency catches, charge for both. CPG operates on a different model, built around four principles that show up in every engagement.

02

Documentation over assertion

When a contractor pushes back on a finding, CPG presents the specific Labor Code section and the relevant case. Not opinion. Not assertion. Documentation that holds up under any agency scrutiny.

04

Applied expertise

Every recommendation, decision, and finding draws from real cases CPG has navigated. Eighteen-plus years of applied practice on California public works projects, not eighteen years of reading regulations.

Integrity

TRUST

We prioritize honesty and ethical behavior in every engagement. Our clients can trust that we will always act in their best interest, even when the truth is harder to deliver than the alternative.

Our Core Values

Five values built into CPG from the beginning. They are not aspirations. They are the standard every engagement has to meet.

Accountability

OWNERSHIP

When we commit to a client, we follow through. We take ownership of our decisions, our findings, and our results, and we deliver the quality and service we promise.

Excellence

STANDARDS

We hold ourselves to high standards in every report, every classification decision, and every recommendation. Continuous improvement is built into how we operate.

Communication

CLARITY

We foster clear and open communication with our clients. They know where their projects stand at every stage, with no ambiguity and no chasing us down for answers.

Transparency

NO SURPRISES

We share information openly. Clients understand exactly what we do, what we charge, and why. There is no ambiguity in how we operate or what to expect.
